Casa Stefania Villa - Abruzzi

This grand 17th century villa is situated in picturesque rolling countryside close to the Gran Sasso and the Maiella National Parks on a 6-hectare plot of land. Just imagine enjoying a holiday paradise for the body and soul in the middle of an olive grove surrounded by fig trees. Signora Stefania offers her guests an exclusive informal atmosphere that leaves nothing to be desired. The lady of the house will even give you personal Italian lessons on request and prides herself on her typical Abruzzi cuisine. Indeed, be it handmade pasta, saffron and pumpkin dishes or homemade apple, almond and grape cakes, you can look forward to some authentically delicious food. Cooking is Stefania's great passion - treat yourself to some excellent dishes such as "Bocconotti", "Tarallucci" and "Ferratelle" and enjoy the variety of the Abruzzi region!

Accommodation and catering

Aesthetically, you cannot fail to be pleased the classic style of this traditional residence. The entire building has been built uniformly using natural stone and tiles and the antique furniture inside - most of which belongs to the family - creates a cosy atmosphere. The owner of the house is an art collector and has decorated the walls with paintings that lend the villa a very special ambience. Although the villa has a number of inviting rooms for spending time relaxing, the dining room with its rather special majolica ceramic fireplace is a real focal point. Villa Stefania's restaurant offers an extended breakfast and half-board on request.

When the weather is fine, guests can also choose to take their meals at a long table out on the veranda, which is a covered patio area. A gallery decorated with paintings takes guests to the villa's five guestrooms. All rooms have double beds and a bathroom with shower. A large patio at the end of the gallery offers guests the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of the surroundings and the invigorating fresh air of the region.

In addition to this, Signora Stefania also has three self-contained holiday homes: these are called "Limone", "Melograno" (pomegranate), "Fico" and "Ulivo" - here you are surrounded by the promise of culinary delights!

"Limone" is a 22 m² small self-contained holiday home offering a double room with natural stone and tiled walls, bathroom, kitchenette and a small patio with views of the location's wonderful swimming-pool (11 x 6,5 m, open from May 1 to about Mid October).

The "Melograno" apartment is about 40 m² and has a double room, a bedroom for two children, a small kitchen and bathroom and is situated in a separate another building. There is a furnished terrace at one side of the apartment.

The "Ulivo" apartment was built 2011 and is situated in another building, has also about 40 m² with two double rooms, a living room with a small kitchen and a bathroom with shower. There is a beautiful patio area with view of the olive trees and situated directly in front of the apartment. Ulivo has also air-conditioning.

"Fico" is the newest apartment. It has about 40 m² with one double room, a bathroom, a living room with sleeping couch (for one child), a small kitchen and a wonderful, very private patio with view of the mountains.

Location and activities

A country house and organic farm, Villa Stefania is an Eldorado for lovers of native olive oil as it offers an incredible variety. In addition to organic fruit, vegetables and spelt, the villa also offers a wide range of olive oil products including olive-oil-based cosmetics. Our tip: Treat yourself to a relaxing massage with homemade olive oil!

Several animals are waiting for the children, they are always grateful for their stroking. In the front of the main building, under shady pines, there is also a spacious playground where kids can romp. At the same time the adults could keep themselves physically active in the small fitness corner. Wi-Fi connection is available.

As well as soothing the soul, Villa Stefania is also an excellent place from where to set out on a wide range of activities. It's only a 30-minute's drive to the Gran Sasso National Park and 45 minutes to the Maiella Mountains. "Campo Imperatore" plateau is about an hour's drive away where you can enjoy mountain hiking. And if you're overcome by a sudden desire to be by the sea, the coast is only 40 minutes away.


Located right on the "Strada del vino", the Wine Street, there are a number of wineries close to the Villa where you can sample a drop of some truly delicious vintages. Tip: If you're thinking of hosting an event and are looking for something special, why not offer your guests a special location: Villa Stefania has its own large events hall with views over the olive grove!
